Pool Hours

Open hours for pools in the school district are now:

Registration Reminders

Please use this form to register your child for the \A/ Youth Field Hockey Program. This program is offered for students in Grades 1-6. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning on August 20th until approximately October 3rd. Some weeks, we may have optional Wednesday practices and/or games. This will be determined by field availability and \A/ Junior/Senior High game schedules.

Some practices may start later depending on the Varsity Field Hockey Schedule.

If there is interest, we will be entered in some Play Days that will be held on weekends. Information about this will be forthcoming. We will also be playing in some Wednesday Night games with local schools. Scheduling is still being worked out for these pick up games.

Players will need water, shin guards, a mouth guard, and a field hockey stick. (Some sticks will be available if needed.)

Payment will be $80. Venmo (@Sue-Wojciechowski) or send/drop off a check to Sue Wojciechowski: 4 Tewkesbury Drive, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Checks can be made payable to Wyomissing Field Hockey Booster Club.

Wyomissing Area Soccer Club registration for Little Dribblers and Intramural has been extended till August 18th, with late registration extended till August 31st.

A late fee will be charged to anyone registering between August 18th-31st.

Saturday, August 17

Where: West Reading Playground, rain or shine - grass near the playground, or under the pavilion

When: Saturdays, 9 - 10am

Details: Combine the joys of yoga with the joys of nature as you root down and rise up with the trees, trail your fingers through the grass, and cloud gaze on your back. Join yoga teachers Lisa Frank and Maddie Hertzog for an all-levels, outdoor yoga class. Meet in the grass near the playground at the West Reading park with your mat and water.

Rain or shine! If it rains, we meet under the pavilion.

Details: West Reading Borough Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at Borough Hall as well as the fourth Tuesday on an as needed basis. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

Council meets to review the minutes and recommendations of the several boards, committees and commissions. Council addresses matters brought to its attention by the Borough Manager, as well as matters brought to its attention by the Mayor or members of Council for discussion and/or action.

Details: Put on your comfortable clothes and sneakers, and come out to our weekly Qigong practice. Weather permitting, we’ll practice in the patio. In case of inclement weather, we’ll be inside in the spacious community room.

Jay Umble will be our guide in this ancient Asian practice that teaches breathing, mindfulness and movement. There is a $5 class fee.

Details: Come and read with a therapy dog (or just pet them)! Pick a spot in the Wyomissing Library, grab a book, and hang out with an adorable furry friend.

All ages are welcome! No registration is required.

When children read out loud to dogs, it helps them "by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to that won’t laugh at them if they make a mistake or stumble over a word, but rather lie next to them and enjoy the story being read to them. The children learn to associate reading with being with the dog, and begin to view reading in a positive way."

Details: The Wyomissing Refuse and Recycling Committee is responsible for making recommendations on how best to manage the extensive refuse, recycling, and yard waste program for the Borough.

Details: Learn about famous artists and the art techniques they used. Then create your own masterpiece.

The suggested age range is 8-12 years old.

The Artist in You will be led by Sara Miller, who grew up in Wyomissing and has spent countless hours at the Wyomissing Library throughout her life. In addition to reading, she has always loved making things! She studied studio art and art history at Dickinson College, and ultimately became an art teacher. Before having her own children, she taught visual art classes to elementary and middle school students in New York and Pennsylvania. She has always made creating a priority in her own life and is thrilled to share her love of art with the community in this way.

Details: Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) incorporates nursery rhymes, music, and movement to aid in developing social, language & literacy skills, and strengthening bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis.

MGOL typically lasts 15-20 minutes and is followed by creative play with puppets, books, and blocks.

For children ages birth to 3 years old. No registration is required.

Details: The Library of Congress National Book Festival is an annual literary event that brings together bestselling authors and thousands of book fans for author talks, panel discussions, book signings and other activities. This year's national book festival will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.

Wyomissing Public Library is sponsoring a bus trip to this year's National Book Festival. The cost is $75/person (Association members save $10/ticket). Includes round trip transportation from Wyomissing to Washington, DC. The National Book Festival is free and open to the public; meals are not included.

Bus schedule:

  • Depart Wyomissing, PA at 6:30 a.m.

  • Arrive at the National Book Festival at approximately 9:45 a.m.

  • Spend the day at the National Book Festival (meals on your own)

  • Depart Washington, DC at 5:30 p.m.

  • Arrive in Wyomissing, PA at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The deadline to register for this trip is Saturday, July 20, 2024. No refunds.

End of Summer Concert: The Wonton Soups

Details: It's always a tough realization, but it's inevitable - summer is going to end so it's time for the Wyomissing END OF SUMMER PARTY & CONCERT with The Wonton Soups. If you're like us, you never want summer to end... but if it has to - let's go out with a banger.

The Wonton Soups are the best at blending jazz, musical theater, marching bands and are entirely self taught musicians, The Wonton Soups have a truly unique sound influenced by funk, ska swing, pop and big band. Expect to hear fresh approaches to covers that land with all age groups, as well as ear catching originals!
