Doc Around the Block: Dr. Angela Adler

The Wyomissing-West Reading Wire is written and maintained by Doc Around the Block Dr. Angela Adler (formerly Kowalski), a 2006 graduate of Wyomissing Area Jr/Sr High School. (We can thank Wyo5Live and Wyo tech class for the podcast recordings!)

Angela's family moved back to the same block of Wyomissing where Angela grew up, with grandparents right down the street.

Angela is a parent, writer, and entrepreneur who appreciates everything Wyomissing and West Reading are, and where we are headed in the future.

Angela adds…

In my Sociology PhD, I specialized in what information is created and shared, and who gets to access it. That’s why I started the Wire.

My notes and observations will be set apart from content in blue boxes like this one.

I’m a community member sharing information with other community members, providing background and context as I can.

I omit my perspective from the Wire, or I bracket it in boxes like these. However, in my personal life I have a perspective and I remain an engaged member of the community.

When I attend meetings where I’m a constituent, I may offer public comment on behalf of my own personal priorities, just as I hope all of you will as well. That’s why I made this newsletter - because you are important. My goal is for us all to have the same information, to do with what we will.

How do you get the information for the Wyomissing-West Reading Wire?

For meeting information, Angela attends as many borough, library, school board, and county meetings in person as possible to get information straight from the source. When unable to attend in person, Angela watches recordings as available.

Angela tracks upcoming agenda items to keep you informed of decision points. The event calendar is an aggregate of various event listings.
