West Reading Borough Council Updates

West Reading Borough Council met on Tuesday September 24th. Discussion included:

• approved Ice & Spice event at West Reading Tavern for January 24-26

• approved Wyomissing Homecoming Parade & Bonfire for October 4

• discussion about animal control, including free-ranging cats

  • West Reading Borough Council intends to lead an initiative to collaborate on in-house animal control with neighboring municipalities

  • tabled decision on animal control pending further discussions - contract is up at the end of the calendar year

• 3rd and Spruce Conditional Licensing Agreement revised by Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board

  • council approved agreement and withdrawing West Reading Borough’s previous objections

• approved conditional offer of employment for parking enforcement officer position

• budget discussion
