West Reading & Wyomissing Hills Pool Hours

As of Monday, August 5th, the hours for West Reading Pool and Wyomissing Hills Pool have changed for the rest of the summer. Open hours are now:

  • West Reading Pool: 12 - 6pm

  • Wyomissing Hills Pool: 12 - 7pm

Wyomissing Pool hours remain 12 - 8pm.

Registration Reminders

Please use this form to register your child for the \A/ Youth Field Hockey Program. This program is offered for students in Grades 1-6. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning on August 20th until approximately October 3rd. Some weeks, we may have optional Wednesday practices and/or games. This will be determined by field availability and \A/ Junior/Senior High game schedules.

Some practices may start later depending on the Varsity Field Hockey Schedule.

If there is interest, we will be entered in some Play Days that will be held on weekends. Information about this will be forthcoming. We will also be playing in some Wednesday Night games with local schools. Scheduling is still being worked out for these pick up games.

Players will need water, shin guards, a mouth guard, and a field hockey stick. (Some sticks will be available if needed.)

Payment will be $80. Venmo (@Sue-Wojciechowski) or send/drop off a check to Sue Wojciechowski: 4 Tewkesbury Drive, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Checks can be made payable to Wyomissing Field Hockey Booster Club.

Wyomissing Area Soccer Club registration for Little Dribblers and Intramural has been extended till August 18th, with late registration extended till August 31st.

A late fee will be charged to anyone registering between August 18th-31st.

  • Little Dribblers (birth year 2019-2021)

  • Intramural (birth year 2017-2018)

Saturday, August 3

Where: West Reading Playground, rain or shine - grass near the playground, or under the pavilion

When: Saturdays, 9 - 10am

Details: Combine the joys of yoga with the joys of nature as you root down and rise up with the trees, trail your fingers through the grass, and cloud gaze on your back. Join yoga teachers Lisa Frank and Maddie Hertzog for an all-levels, outdoor yoga class. Meet in the grass near the playground at the West Reading park with your mat and water.

Rain or shine! If it rains, we meet under the pavilion.

  • Reviewing and discussing State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen (1 Wellington Blvd) - Final Plan Land Development Submission

    • State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen proposed expanding the parking lot into a lot in Wyomissing zoned currently for low-density residential use, which the borough intends to rezone as commercial C-1 Neighborhood use

    • The Wyomissing Planning Commission is reviewing required landscaping and lighting plans given the proposed parking areas.

    • The Commission will decide whether to approve, table, or deny recommending Council grant approval to the land development plan

Details: The Shade Tree Commission meets on the 1st Monday of the month at Borough Hall at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

The various responsibilities of the Shade Tree Commission include:

  • Stimulate and organize tree planting and maintenance.

  • Develop and implement urban forest inventories, management plans and ordinances.

  • Lessen liability by arranging to remove hazardous trees.

Where: Wyomissing Public Library Patio or Community Room (weather depending)

When: Tuesdays 9 - 10am

Details: Put on your comfortable clothes and sneakers, and come out to our weekly Qigong practice. Weather permitting, we’ll practice in the patio. In case of inclement weather, we’ll be inside in the spacious community room.

Jay Umble will be our guide in this ancient Asian practice that teaches breathing, mindfulness and movement. There is a $5 class fee.

Details: Children will enjoy books, songs, rhymes, and movement activities while building social, language, and literacy skills. All storytimes are followed by a craft to help develop fine motor skills, as well as to reinforce the story themes.

Details: The West Reading Planning Commission is a body of citizens that serve within local government, acting as an advisory group to Borough Council on issues and policies related to planning, land use regulation, and community development. Details: Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) incorporates nursery rhymes, music, and movement to aid in developing social, language & literacy skills, and strengthening bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis.

MGOL typically lasts 15-20 minutes and is followed by creative play with puppets, books, and blocks.

For children ages birth to 3 years old. No registration is required.
