Details: Combine the joys of yoga with the joys of nature as you root down and rise up with the trees, trail your fingers through the grass, and cloud gaze on your back. Join yoga teachers Lisa Frank and Maddie Hertzog for an all-levels, outdoor yoga class. Meet in the grass near the playground at the West Reading park with your mat and water.

Rain or shine! If it rains, we meet under the pavilion.

Details: For children ages 4-7. Learn about mindfulness through fun and interactive activities designed to teach children about emotions and using their breath. Be Present uses stories, games, and arts and crafts to introduce young children to mindfulness. September's workshop theme is Fall. Children will be engaged in activities related to falling leaves, color, and trees.

Be Present's mindfulness educator, Tania Hollos, is a Wyomissing graduate with over 25 years of experience as an educator and has specialized in social and emotional learning for students in grades pre-K to 12th grade throughout her career. Tania has a Master's degree in Education and currently works in schools delivering mental health programs and services to middle and high school students.

On Saturday, September 14th, grab your golden ticket and join us for a magical evening as we dive into the whimsical world of Willy Wonka with a special showing of "Wonka". Ever wonder how Willy became Wonka? Well, you’re about to find out! Spoiler alert: there’s chocolate involved.

Thanks to our wonderful friends at the Wyomissing Hills Social Committee, we’ll be treating everyone to free popcorn—because nothing goes better with a movie than popcorn, right?

The movie will start at 7:30 PM, so bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and maybe a Wonka Bar (or two) to enjoy this deliciously fun evening at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park and Playground. And remember, in the wise words of Willy himself, “A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men!”

Details: Put on your comfortable clothes and sneakers, and come out to our weekly Qigong practice. Weather permitting, we’ll practice in the patio. In case of inclement weather, we’ll be inside in the spacious community room.

Jay Umble will be our guide in this ancient Asian practice that teaches breathing, mindfulness and movement. There is a $5 class fee.

Details: Come and read with a therapy dog (or just pet them)! Pick a spot in the Wyomissing Library, grab a book, and hang out with an adorable furry friend.

All ages are welcome! No registration is required.

When children read out loud to dogs, it helps them "by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to that won’t laugh at them if they make a mistake or stumble over a word, but rather lie next to them and enjoy the story being read to them. The children learn to associate reading with being with the dog, and begin to view reading in a positive way."

Details: Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) incorporates nursery rhymes, music, and movement to aid in developing social, language & literacy skills, and strengthening bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis.

MGOL typically lasts 15-20 minutes and is followed by creative play with puppets, books, and blocks.

For children ages birth to 3 years old. No registration is required.
