Registration Reminders

Wyomissing Area Soccer Club registration for Little Dribblers and Intramural has been extended till August 18th, with late registration extended till August 31st.

A late fee will be charged to anyone registering between August 18th-31st.

Details: Combine the joys of yoga with the joys of nature as you root down and rise up with the trees, trail your fingers through the grass, and cloud gaze on your back. Join yoga teachers Lisa Frank and Maddie Hertzog for an all-levels, outdoor yoga class. Meet in the grass near the playground at the West Reading park with your mat and water.

Details: The Borough of Wyomissing's Recreation Department is thrilled to invite you and your family to a special evening of Disney magic with our Movies In The Park series! On Saturday, Ausgust 31st - head over to Berkshire Heights Playground for an outdoor screening of the beloved classic, The Little Mermaid.

This is more than just a movie nightβ€”it’s a chance to make unforgettable memories with your community. The evening will be filled with family-friendly fun and, of course, a sprinkle of that Disney magic we all love.

For the little ones, we encourage your kids to dress up as their favorite characters from The Little Mermaid and dive into the adventure with Ariel, Sebastian, and Flounder!

Don't forget to bring your picnic blankets, chairs, and a sense of wonder. This is your chance to be "Part of Your World" in a setting as enchanting as the movie itself. We can't wait to see you there!

Where: Wyomissing Public Library Patio or Community Room (weather depending)

When: Tuesdays 9 - 10am

Details: Put on your comfortable clothes and sneakers, and come out to our weekly Qigong practice. Weather permitting, we’ll practice in the patio. In case of inclement weather, we’ll be inside in the spacious community room.

Jay Umble will be our guide in this ancient Asian practice that teaches breathing, mindfulness and movement. There is a $5 class fee.

Details: Come and read with a therapy dog (or just pet them)! Pick a spot in the Wyomissing Library, grab a book, and hang out with an adorable furry friend.

All ages are welcome! No registration is required.

When children read out loud to dogs, it helps them "by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to that won’t laugh at them if they make a mistake or stumble over a word, but rather lie next to them and enjoy the story being read to them. The children learn to associate reading with being with the dog, and begin to view reading in a positive way."

Details: The Wyomissing Civil Service Commission's function is to prescribe, amend and enforce rules and regulations for the examination for positions in the Police and Fire Departments and for promotions, which rules and regulations shall prescribe the minimum qualifications of all applicants to be examined and the passing grades. The Commission prepares and posts the final list of eligible candidates for the vacant position(s) for Borough Council action. The Commission convenes as necessary at Borough Hall.

Details: Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) incorporates nursery rhymes, music, and movement to aid in developing social, language & literacy skills, and strengthening bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis.

MGOL typically lasts 15-20 minutes and is followed by creative play with puppets, books, and blocks.

For children ages birth to 3 years old. No registration is required.

Venture into the Parklands, where unobstructed views and minimal light pollution transform the night sky into a breathtaking display. From spotting constellations and planets to admiring the majesty of the Milky Way, there are so many different things you can experience when you look up. Stargazing is not just an activity; it’s a great way to relax and appreciate the beauty of the universe.

Join us, along with the Berks County Amateur Astronomical Society, as they bring telescopes and their expertise for an enhanced stargazing experience.
