End-of-Season Pool Hours
The Wyomissing Hills, Wyomissing, and West Reading pools will be open until Sunday August 25th.
Pool hours are:
West Reading Pool: 12 - 6pm
Wyomissing Hills Pool: 12 - 7pm
Wyomissing and West Reading pools will be open Saturday August 31-Monday September 2.
On Monday September 2 West Reading pool will close at 4pm and open at 5pm for Pups at the Pool.
Wyomissing Hills pool will be open Friday August 30-Monday September 2.
Registration Reminders
Wyomissing Area Soccer Club registration for Little Dribblers and Intramural has been extended till August 18th, with late registration extended till August 31st.
A late fee will be charged to anyone registering between August 18th-31st.

Where: West Reading Playground, rain or shine - grass near the playground, or under the pavilion
When: Saturdays, 9 - 10am
Details: Combine the joys of yoga with the joys of nature as you root down and rise up with the trees, trail your fingers through the grass, and cloud gaze on your back. Join yoga teachers Lisa Frank and Maddie Hertzog for an all-levels, outdoor yoga class. Meet in the grass near the playground at the West Reading park with your mat and water.
Rain or shine! If it rains, we meet under the pavilion.

Details: The Library of Congress National Book Festival is an annual literary event that brings together bestselling authors and thousands of book fans for author talks, panel discussions, book signings and other activities. This year's national book festival will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.
Wyomissing Public Library is sponsoring a bus trip to this year's National Book Festival. The cost is $75/person (Association members save $10/ticket). Includes round trip transportation from Wyomissing to Washington, DC. The National Book Festival is free and open to the public; meals are not included.
Bus schedule:
Depart Wyomissing, PA at 6:30 a.m.
Arrive at the National Book Festival at approximately 9:45 a.m.
Spend the day at the National Book Festival (meals on your own)
Depart Washington, DC at 5:30 p.m.
Arrive in Wyomissing, PA at approximately 9:00 p.m.
The deadline to register for this trip is Saturday, July 20, 2024. No refunds.

Details: It's always a tough realization, but it's inevitable - summer is going to end so it's time for the Wyomissing END OF SUMMER PARTY & CONCERT with The Wonton Soups. If you're like us, you never want summer to end... but if it has to - let's go out with a banger.
The Wonton Soups are the best at blending jazz, musical theater, marching bands and are entirely self taught musicians, The Wonton Soups have a truly unique sound influenced by funk, ska swing, pop and big band. Expect to hear fresh approaches to covers that land with all age groups, as well as ear catching originals!
Mark your calendars and be sure to pre-purchase your wrist bands from the pool staff:

Mr. Softee will have ice cream and allergy friendly treats for sale starting at $3 (cash only). The Wyomissing PTA will have spirit wear and Wyo gear for purchase (accepts cash, Venmo & Stripe) and the Wyomissing Hills Social Committee will have Boscov's coupons for purchase (cash only). Bring your family and make the night before school extra sweet! π¦π

When: Tuesdays 9 - 10am
Details: Put on your comfortable clothes and sneakers, and come out to our weekly Qigong practice. Weather permitting, weβll practice in the patio. In case of inclement weather, weβll be inside in the spacious community room.
Jay Umble will be our guide in this ancient Asian practice that teaches breathing, mindfulness and movement. There is a $5 class fee.

Details: Children will enjoy books, songs, rhymes, and movement activities while building social, language, and literacy skills. All storytimes are followed by a craft to help develop fine motor skills, as well as to reinforce the story themes.

Details: This month we are reading The Awakening, by Kate Chopin.
First published in 1899, the novel is a "daring portrayal of a woman trapped in a stifling marriage, who seeks and finds passionate physical love outside the confines of her domestic situation."

Details: This program is geared for anyone who wants to play chess. All ages and skill levels are welcome, especially new players. We will have someone from the Million Youth Chess Club organization here to teach!

Details: Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) incorporates nursery rhymes, music, and movement to aid in developing social, language & literacy skills, and strengthening bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis.
MGOL typically lasts 15-20 minutes and is followed by creative play with puppets, books, and blocks.
For children ages birth to 3 years old. No registration is required.

Details: The Borough of Wyomissing's Recreation Department is thrilled to invite you and your family to a special evening of Disney magic with our Movies In The Park series! On Saturday, Ausgust 31st - head over to Berkshire Heights Playground for an outdoor screening of the beloved classic, The Little Mermaid.
This is more than just a movie nightβitβs a chance to make unforgettable memories with your community. The evening will be filled with family-friendly fun and, of course, a sprinkle of that Disney magic we all love.
For the little ones, we encourage your kids to dress up as their favorite characters from The Little Mermaid and dive into the adventure with Ariel, Sebastian, and Flounder!
