  • July 29: Week of first minicamp (no pads). Three practices will happen this week and will vary from level to level.

  • August 5: This will be a first full week of summer practice (M-F). The following week will be 4 days.

  • August 17: We will once again participate in the Berks Brawl day of scrimmages.

  • August 24: Saturday 8/24 and 8/25 will be the dates of our first weekend of games.

Time: Monday July 8th, starts at 6pm

Details: The West Reading Economic Development Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at West Reading Borough Hall at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

The Borough recognizes the need to expand the community's tax base and to encourage the development and retention of skilled employment opportunities for local residents. In order to promote a stable and diversified local economy and enhance the quality of life in West Reading, Borough Council appoints an Economic Development Committee to serve in an advisory capacity to Borough Council to review economic trends and make recommendations to strengthen the economic well being of the Borough.

Where: Wyomissing Public Library Patio or Community Room (weather depending)

When: Tuesday July 9th, 9 - 10am

Details: Put on your comfortable clothes and sneakers, and come out to our weekly Qigong practice. Weather permitting, weโ€™ll practice in the patio. In case of inclement weather, weโ€™ll be inside in the spacious community room.

Jay Umble will be our guide in this ancient Asian practice that teaches breathing, mindfulness and movement. There is a $5 class fee.

Details: Do you like Anime? Join us for a discussion of the genre! Watch anime, make new friends, and much more! For ages 18-35 years old. This program is presented by Neil Rush.

Details: Come and read with a therapy dog (or just pet them)! Pick a spot in the Wyomissing Library, grab a book, and hang out with an adorable furry friend.

All ages are welcome! No registration is required.

When children read out loud to dogs, it helps them "by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to that wonโ€™t laugh at them if they make a mistake or stumble over a word, but rather lie next to them and enjoy the story being read to them. The children learn to associate reading with being with the dog, and begin to view reading in a positive way."

Details: Wyomissing Area Soccer Club has free pickup games for all travel players, weekly on Thursdays from 6 - 8 pm.

This is a great opportunity for players to get time to play and have fun - no drills, no coaching. Just informal friendly games supervised by travel coaches.

Remember to bring: Water bottle, cleats and shin guards. Soccer balls not required.

Open to WASC travel players previously registered for Fall 2023 or Spring 2024, and WASC travel players already registered for Fall 2024.

Adults can drop players off at 6pm and pick them up by 8pm, or can stay and watch the pickup games.

Details: The Wyomissing Borough Council orchestrates the many vital organizations within the Borough. They are a body of officials elected by the voters of the Borough of Wyomissing.

The Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month to review the minutes and recommendations of the several boards, committees and commissions. Council addresses matters brought to its attention by the Borough Manager, as well as matters brought to its attention by the Mayor or members of Council for discussion and/or action.

Details: Children will enjoy books, songs, rhymes, and movement activities while building social, language, and literacy skills. All storytimes are followed by a craft to help develop fine motor skills, as well as to reinforce the story themes.

For children age 3 and up. No registration is required.

Details: The West Reading Traffic & Infrastructure Committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at Borough Hall at 6:00 p.m.

The Traffic and Infrastructure Committee reviews and makes recommendations to Council on matters such as traffic safety, flow, control and parking, curbing, sidewalk, storm sewer drainage, sanitary sewer, water, and street lighting.

Books and Brews - Wyomissing Public Library Fundraiser

Time: Wednesday July 10th, 7 - 9pm

Details: Join your Wyomissing Public Library community at The Bar Cart, on Wednesday, July 10th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.! Attend a lovely evening of literary libations: converse, drink, and read! Bring a book for swapping.

20% of proceeds will be donated to the library!

This fundraiser will be held at The Bar Cart (713 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA)

Thursday, July 11

When: Thursday July 11th, 10:30 - 11:15am

Details: For children of all abilities, ages 3 and up. Join us for floor and table play activities. No registration is necessary.

Details: The West Reading Finance Committee meets on the Thursday prior to the regular Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m. at West Reading Borough Hall.

The Committee provides oversight and makes regular reports on matters associated to the following areas:

  • Review monthly financial statements and track revenues and expenditures

Details: Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) incorporates nursery rhymes, music, and movement to aid in developing social, language & literacy skills, and strengthening bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis.

MGOL typically lasts 15-20 minutes and is followed by creative play with puppets, books, and blocks.

For children ages birth to 3 years old. No registration is required.

Details: Combine the joys of yoga with the joys of nature as you root down and rise up with the trees, trail your fingers through the grass, and cloud gaze on your back. Join yoga teachers Lisa Frank and Maddie Hertzog for an all-levels, outdoor yoga class. Meet in the grass near the playground at the West Reading park with your mat and water.

Rain or shine! If it rains, we meet under the pavilion.
